Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! In this last post of 2024, I want to thank you all for the book love you’ve shown me. When you like, love, share, borrow, buy, and review one of my books it means the world to me. It keeps me doing what I love— creating books for kids!
It’s been quite a year both personally and bookish-ly. First, we were blessed with a beautiful, healthy granddaughter in February. She is such fun and no doubt an inspiration! Second, it has been a busy year for me career-wise. This year I signed three contracts for future books, and two permission contracts for other works including poetry from my poetry blog.
Also, out new this year is a workbook for teens and adults who suffer from anxiety:

A creative workbook for managing anxiety, increasing mindfulness, and finding a path to calm. Anxiety, the uninvited party crasher in our brains, can really mess with our health and relationships and affect our overall happiness. From the author of over 25 books and fellow anxious buddy comes this workbook bursting with simple yet effective activities to distract you from worrying and overthinking. Color positive affirmation pages, challenge your thoughts through journaling and doodle your way through soothing exercises. Prepare to relax your mind and refocus your thoughts on the present moment.
Now onto the new year! Three new books are releasing in 2025 and (YAY!) they are available for pre-order now with a click of the covers if you want to get grab an early copy:

From the creators of The Thank You Book, this board book celebrates the ways we can be welcoming and the importance of community.
If you meet someone new in the world today,
there is a very kind word you can say.
“Welcome!”
Welcoming somebody shows that you care.
You’re happy to see them. You’re glad they are there.
From inviting a friend to play to welcoming a new baby into the world, this sweet book celebrates all the ways we can welcome those around us—and shows readers that even small acts can have a big impact.

Bunny hides special eggs for all her forest friends in this hide-and-seek Easter board book that introduces the concepts of opposites!
There’s a bunny with a basket
hopping ‘round the bend.
She has a lot of Easter eggs—
one for every friend.
Little readers will love finding the Easter eggs throughout this book as bunny hides them high, low, over, under, and all over. Plus, there might even be a surprise egg at the end!

This rhyming Little Golden Book celebrates all the blooming, bright, and beautiful colors of the spring season!
ORANGE is the door
of Grandpa’s garden shed.
BROWN is the soil
that fills the flower bed. . . .
Preschoolers will enjoy hearing the rhyming tale of a young boy and his grandfather gardening on a lovely spring day. The beautiful illustrations highlight the different colors to be seen including green weeds, purple flowers, yellow butterflies, and pink lemonade! It’s the perfect companion to the Little Golden Books The Colors of Winter, The Colors of Summer, and The Colors of Fall.
Collect all the season!

A few books are in the works for 2026 and I look forward to sharing more about them when I can.
Again, wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday that is filled with peace, Joy, and, of course, good books!
Cheers!
Danna
