As an author, I love finding playful ways to help little ones discover the world. With Easter approaching, I’m thrilled to share my board book, “Bunny’s Easter Basket,” illustrated by Kathryn Selbert. It’s a perfect holiday treat, but I wrote it with a special twist that makes it a great read all year round.

Discover “Hopposites”
I’ve always loved wordplay, so I’ve introduced a concept I call “Hopposites!” It’s a fun play on opposites designed to make early learning feel like a game.
As you follow Bunny hiding her eggs, your little ones will explore:
- High and Low
- Big and Little
- Behind and In front
- Dry and Wet
- Around and Through
By framing these lessons through Bunny’s journey to hide eggs for his forest friends, the book becomes a vocabulary-building tool you can use any month of the year.

A Surprise Ending
Babies and toddlers stay engaged when there’s a visual “hook.” That’s why I included a novelty element that builds anticipation with every page, leading to a surprise lift-the-flap egg for the reader at the end! Watching a child’s face light up at that final reveal is exactly why I write for this age group.
From My Library to Yours

This is so cute, Danna! The illustrations feel nostalgic to me, and everything else is spot on. I think I need to get a copy for my youngest grand who LOVES books. It makes my nana heart so happy, when she backs up to sit down and read. For 15 seconds right now, but still! LOL
Aw, thank you, Angie! I love the nostalgic/classic feel too! Kathryn did a fantastic job with the art! I know what you mean, but those 15 seconds add up! ha-ha. Your granddaughter will love the lift-the-flap and there is an actual hole in the book that the bunny’s through at the end! A fun peek-a-boo element. So fun! 🙂
Ooh, great to know! Thanks!
